Surry County Government is a $62 million service provider, and taxpayers deserve management that matches the scale of that responsibility. Our vision is a county government that operates with:

• Professional leadership recruited for credentials and track record, capable of delivering efficient, reliable services

• Strict accountability to the taxpayers who finance the operation

• Right-sized staffing based solely on ability and performance

• An end to nepotism in all hiring, contracting, and promotions

Surry County must function like the serious, multimillion-dollar operation it is—transparent to stakeholders, disciplined in its operations, and focused on measurable results.

2. A Thriving Local Economy Fueled by Growth and Opportunity

Surry County (est. 1652) deserves an economic boom. We support building the infrastructure needed to attract:

• New businesses and their employees from outside Surry County

• Families seeking opportunities

• Long-term private investment

Building infrastructure means prioritizing wider roads, underground utilities, and zoning clarity to make Surry County a more attractive site for development than neighboring counties.

A growing economy strengthens our tax base, supports additional business development, and provides residents of all ages with opportunities to build their futures here.

3. A High-Performance School System That Prepares Children for the Future

A growing economy requires a school system ready to serve the families who come with it. The Surry County School System is a $19 million operation funded by county taxpayers, and it deserves leadership and oversight that match that responsibility. Our vision is a school district that operates with:

• Professional leadership focused on producing graduates who excel in mathematics, have strong vocabularies, write grammatically, speak confidently to an audience, and recognize a dishonest argument when they hear one

• Strict accountability to the taxpayers who finance the operation

• Readiness to serve the families who will arrive with economic expansion

• No nepotism in hiring, advancement, or contracting
